Kayak the South Bight at Tiamo, South Andros, The Bahamas for a fun and exhilarating Caribbean Vacation

Take an Exhilarating Kayak Adventure

Kayaking the calm waters of the South Bight is a magical and harmonious way to enjoy the abundant marine life and birds that inhabit this extensive estuary as a nursery. With only a gentle ripple of your paddle you slip by fish filled mangroves and seemingly levitate over sandy beds of sea grass and patches of limestone which are home to various types of interesting and exquisite sea creatures.

Your guided kayak trip takes you along a 20-minute northerly trek up the bight shoreline to one of our most unique of snorkel sites. On approach you witness water in a shade of turquoise that you would only expect in a dream. After swimming under a natural rock bridge you resurface in a lagoon that leads to an incredible underwater fissure in the limestone…welcome to  “The Crack.” This special place is home to hawksbill sea turtles and moral eels as well as many different types of fish, crustaceans and invertebrates - and if we have our way, will also be one of the first national parks on the island. These comfortable sit on top type kayaks are here for your use, so feel free to grab one for a self guided mosey down the bight or to lay claim to one of the many secluded beached for a private picnic.

You can also arrange an additional kayak trip that takes you on an 18 mile boat ride through the South Bight wilderness to the West Side of the island where you will kayak along the salt water creeks to view animals like water birds, sea turtles, saw fish, sharks and big silver rolling tarpon.

Kayaking the calm clear waters of South Andros Island is a must do on any Caribbean vacation getaway
